At 11.00 pm., October 30th 2009, reporter revealed of the atmosphere of nightclubs and bars in Pattaya City. There were a lot of both Thai and foreign tourists going out and preparing to celebrate Halloween. Beer bars were decorated with balloons to attract tourists and their waiters were dressed up and wearing accessories that agree to Halloween.

In Pattaya city, there was a festival named Pattaya Halloween Festival 2009, at beach road, central Pattaya from October 30th to 31st 2009 for tourists to celebrate Halloween festival. The stage for concert was built and there will be bands and popular singers performing such as Gan Core Club, Sweet Mullet, and etc. The roads from central Pattaya to the beach and beach roads throughout Pattaya will be closed. Within the festival, there will also be activity booth to play games and playthings for tourists who join the festival. Mr. Itthiphol Koonpluem, mayor of Pattaya city, has come to open the festival as the president with member groups of Pattaya City, greeting the tourists. After the opening, there were exciting fireworks.

There were many tourists participating in the festival, which made the atmosphere more vivid than every year. For the traffic of the roads in Pattaya, there were a number of cars and the Pattaya traffic police, rescue workers of Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya foundation and volunteers helped releasing the cars and helped tourists at different spots.

Mr. Itthipol spoke of the objective of having this festival, it was for tourists to celebrate Halloween’s and travel in Pattaya city. It was expected that the tourism economy would be improved. Next year, there will be the festival again and certainly bigger than this one.
